Tour Adventures - Week 1

I already feel more confident.

I don’t get car sick which is a huge bonus. The journey to Southampton was easy and I'm travelling with some great people. The Brook is spacious but cosy with little areas to tuck yourself away and breathe for a bit. I was on a stage that quite literally towered over the audience. So big infact there was a tiny ladder to get down. Finally people will be able to see my tiny self. I was shaky and nervous but made friends with some people afterwards.

Our local Stourbridge gig was...interesting to say the least. However, my boyfriend and his parents came along with a huge tour bag full of goodies, a cute card and breakfast bars (thank you again oh my). My performance wasn't perfect but the band still did great. I think my mum had a nostalgic moment whilst watching them. You could definitely pin point the true fans of the 'Jagged Little Pill' album as they sang along to every song they played. I can imagine it's quite a big thing for some people, reminiscing about their past. It was lovely to see.

Newcastle, wow. That's something I'll hold on to for a long time. The night had completely sold out so the venue was packed to the brim. I was happy with my set and everyone sang along to my 'Budapest/Suspicious Minds' mash up. I had some lovely compliments and bopped along to the band for the rest of the night. After the show, we headed to a Travelodge and I got to speak to the whole band a bit more. Turns out there's no real secret to what they're doing, you've just got to go out and do it. I admire them for that.

I noticed the more we travelled, the colder it got. Scotland is absolutely stunning so the journey was easy as I watched bright green hills steadily dip and rise. I have realised how much I adore the Scottish accent and how badly I feel for not understanding a single word anyone said. Everyone was super friendly though and after my set, I had a handful of people come up to me asking for cards and demos. People were keen on picking up an EP so I'm looking forward to having some more again. It's definitely reassuring. I grabbed a drink and jumped along with the crowd until the end of the night.

Back to reality though. For those of you that don't know, I work in a bar. It's difficult switching between two completely different things but it's pushing me to make sure I enjoy what I do in the future. I'm hoping the rest of the tour dates will go just as well. c:

(Bare with me with the whole blogging thing, just trying it out.)
